Description:
All writers search for inspiration, especially novelists. What if your best ideas weren't found in your creative daydreams, but in your nightmares? Writer David A. Romero discusses how childhood and early adulthood nighmares inspired his debut novel The Enemy Sleeps. What we fear and what haunts us can tell us a lot about is most important to us. In order for writing to be impactful, it often has to be deeply personal, it has to ring with authenticity. In this workshop we contrast the things we are taught to fear with the content of our own nightmares. By writing a list of some of our nightmares, we can find one or more that can be the inspiration for unique, spine-chilling tales.
Purpose:
The Stuff of Nighmares helps participants develop ideas for their own horror and suspense novels.
